Tabula rasa

Tabula Rasa is a Latin term referring to a clean-slate, a new beginning. We try to find harmony in a convoluted and confusing society. More than ever, we are united through technology, yet we are still alone together. Finding the strength to let go of a situation of deep discomfort and pain which hinders our growth can become an act of personal heroism. This unique musical composition from Michael Gordon is layered in such a rebellious and fast pace manner that the choreography comes to meet the challenges it poses. The melodies drift in and out the regular structure and express themselves seemingly at random, creating disharmony. The performance reflects aspects of our society and of our individuality where confusion and tension take centre stage arriving at a point of break, leading to the necessity of Tabula Rasa.
